Colorado In-Depth: Psilocybin and the future of cancer care

As a newly promoted Editor-Producer for the Colorado Public Radio newsroom I was assigned to work with veteran reporter Andrew Kenney to help shape a project he’d been gathering tape on. I contributed to the story structure alongside Andrew and my executive editor and took lead on sound design for the story. In the clip below, I produced and designed a dreamy segment to elevate an emotional high in the story.

Quién Are We

In 2022 I developed and launched CPR’s first Latinx-focused show. Utilizing design thinking strategies, I led the development of the show with host May Ortega, news editors, and my colleagues on the podcast team. I served as the Lead Producer, responsible for project management, developing the sound design and aesthetic for the show and producing, and mixing episodes. Over 2 seasons “Quién Are We” generated over 300,00 downloads and received critical acclaim, including a Webby Honoree recognition.

My Story So Far

In 2022 I was promoted from podcast producer to community audio producer to spearhead an institutional goal to highlight more community voices. One initiative I created and launched was the "My Story So Far" podcast where I visited Colorado communities, built relationships, found individuals willing to share their stories, coached them on storytelling techniques, and produced live storytelling events featuring their personal narratives. The focus was amplifying marginalized voices helping them share transformative personal narratives, fostering empathy and connection. We featured formerly incarcerated individuals navigating reentry, survivors of Colorado's most destructive wildfire, and the LGBTQ community in rural Colorado.
